The Contracting Parties are Denmark, Estonia, the European Union, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Sweden.HELCOM was established well-nigh four decades ago to protect the marine environment of the Baltic Sea from all sources of pollution through intergovernmental cooperation.
